Random thoughts while avoiding work:

Is concentrated laundry detergent REALLY any different than regular? I think they just package the same stuff in smaller containers.

Where is DHH lunch box that he could not find this morning? Hope his day is going well..at least it is cooler out today since he is working on the plane tarmac or is it tarmat or tarmak?

Why do 20-something women get most of the boob jobs? Who was the first woman to get a boob job?

Why is the clock in my office ticking so loud?

How come I can’t concentrate on work today?..if I get it done now I can relax (LOL) later.

How did I manage to break every fingernail except my ring finger left hand? Should I cut that nail even with the others.

What is the price of gas going to be when I pick Princess up from horse camp?

I can’t believe they actually brought that pretty horse into the classroom. Can you call a horse pretty?

Damn..I just looked at the work schedule for tomorrow...I had better get my butt in gear and get these OP notes done..the H&Ps will be coming in at 4..

hmm...since I’ll be typing H&Ps tonight should I take a nap now........

OH..NO..not another one.

Happened AGAIN...yesterday. Out in our loverly back yard.

Princess had a friend spend the night and they wanted to use the little pool. Had to waddle out there to clean it out since it has not be used since last week and it was full of grass, leaves, dead bugs, (but no dead birds)..etc.

The girls up near the pool..fat momma here down by the house to turn on the hose (in barefeet again..you would think I would learn) and as I start to go towards them..there in the grass..a little (2 foot long) SNAKE!! DARN IT!!!!

I tell the girls about it and being 8-year-olds...they want to see it. So we are on the other side of Chef Husband's herb garden looking at it through, appropriately enough, a CHICKEN wire fence..like the thing couldn't come and get us. LOL. I take a picture of it but my camera doesn't have a wonderful zoom feature so you can't really see it.

Anyway we wander in the house and decide to leave little snakey alone. It is still early morning so maybe once the blazing sun comes out snakey will be asleep. UGH.

I use the opportunity to play teacher and we look up the snake online. Lucky for me...our state has a good website for those of us who don't have a clue about the critters.

http://www.oplin.org/snake/quick%20id/cp_striped03.html

This is what we decided it must be (Garter snake). Of course Princess was upset because it eats worms..she likes worms..strange child.

Forward to the afternoon under blazing hot sun..snakey is gone and girls are playing in the pool and outside. They find a little frog and want to keep it. I tell them to let it go..it must live in the wild.

All the while I am thinking..oh..no..that is why snakey was in the yard..we have a snake buffet happening..worms and frogs and snakes...oh my

snake update

Remember my run in with the snake yesterday...well the story gets better.

Seems Ms. Snake decided to pay the neighbors a visit about an hour after my run it with him/her.

Mom and Dad Neighbor were out running errands and oldest Daughter Neighbor was home alone. Oldest Daughter Neighbor graduated high school last year and was visiting. She was home and since the weather has been somewhat pleasant she had the front wooden door open (glass/screen door still closed). While watching TV..she notices something swinging at the top of the doorway. Walks over to investigate and what is staring at her through the glass...YES...Ms. SNAKE! Seems that Ms. Snake slithered up a piece of lattice that is next to the front door and was just hanging out..literally.

Well she screams and calls Mom and Dad to inform them. Mom says make sure the glass door is pulled tight and close the wooden door. She does this.

Mom and Dad come home and Mom is walking carefully onto the porch looking for snake near door...asks Dad where it is and he points mere inches from her on the glider. She jumps, screams and goes towards other neighbor house. LOL.

Hero Neighbor Dad gets something and pushes Ms. Snake all the way across the street to the woods. We are sure that Ms. Snake might have road rash from being pushed across the street but sorry about her luck.

The most frightening part of this whole story...seems that Youngest Daughter Neighbor was cutting the grass yesterday and ran over a smaller snake...so it might be that we have a "nest" of them and Ms. Snake was really "Momma Snake".

Can you say.....thinking of "House for Sale". LOL.....

YUCK..

Two things I really dislike in the animal kingdom....snakes and rats. I know..each animal has its own use but I would prefer that they stay far...far...far away from me.

So today:

Darling handsome husband (a.k.a. DHH) cut the grass before heading off to work. He was telling me about how the new pool for Princess (twin pool to the one that had a dead bird in it the day after we set it up) was getting cloudy, so he was going to put some bleach into it. No problem..as long as there were no more birds floating..I didn’t want to have to buy a third pool this year and have another bird funeral.

Well anyway.....I had been slogging away typing shoulder scopes this morning and figured I needed a break to see some sunlight. I wander out with no shoes on cause I like to feel soft cut grass on my feet. We check out the pool, dump some bleach into it, I glance at the garden that we have not had to water since we planted it... thanks Mother Nature, my tomatoes are lookin great.. and I am prepared to head back in.

Well lucky for me I have arthritis and tend to walk slower than any normal human...so DHH gets to the back door first and says.... "Whoa..Look here".... what is there...A HUGE SNAKE...yes a HUGE snake!!!! Have I said how much I hate snakes..goes back to school when I had a run in with a rattler. Where the hell was this thing when I came out of that same door five minutes before hmmm?????? in my bare feet no less????

Anyway, this HUGE snake is trying to get into our nice cool garage. Thankfully I closed the door when I came out because this thing starts to go up the door. It was up near the handle of the door with half its body still on the patio...YIKES is the damn thing going to open the door!!! I froze in place in the grass. There was NOOOO WAY..I was going anywhere near that thing. DHH is trying to get me to come look at it. It is a "pretty black snake"...Hell...no snake is "pretty"

So DHH goes through the gate and around into the garage to get something to get it away from the door so chicken wife can get back to the safe world of orthopaedic dictation. He comes back with a pole...and pushes it off the patio and into the bushes.. Now..me I would have put the darn thing into a bucket and taken it off to the woods across the street, if I wasn’t frozen in place...but no..he just pushes into the bushes..RIGHT NEXT TO THE PATIO...the same patio Princess painted with her Crayola paints just last night. UGH. So now for the rest of this summer...I am going to be waiting for this snake to wrap itself around my baby’s leg when she is out painting..

He insists it won’t bother anyone...yeah..right..sure..I’m not going out there without a rake or some other garden tool anymore..for that matter..why do I need to check the garden, or help BBQ, or watch Princess in her pool....for....the...rest....of...this... summer..YUCK!!!

Never liked the tails on rats or mice for that matter. Just totally grosses me out..but that is another story...

Anyone know a "snake whisperer"?

School's out for the summer

YIPPEE...school is out for the summer....come on...sing with me.."School's out for the summer".. LOL

I no longer have to get up at 6:30 am every M-F. I get to sleep until about 7:30. Amazing how that hour makes a HUGE difference to me.

Princess will be attending various "summer camps" which she ALWAYS LOVES. She will be learning about "artists, butterflies, horses, American girl dolls, rockets, miniatures, and music". Should be a fun time for her.

Me..I'll just be typing shoulder scopes, knee scopes, cataracts, tummy tucks, boob jobs, ortho doctor dictation.....all in the name of my job as a MT...ugh...wish I was rich and didn't have to work.

Yikes...I've been tagged

The rules: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then go to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1. Why did you start your blog? Cause I wanted one that was for those not on myspace.

2. How did you come up with your blog name? Well I work from home and have a tendency to not want to work, so I wish that I could avoid work, and thus my mind wanders ALOT..especially while listening to doctors yammer on and on and on.....

3. Do your friends and family know about your blog, and what do they think? Some do..mostly stranger friends.

4. How do you write posts? I type them when I am avoiding doctor dictation that is waiting for me...like right now..

5. Have you ever had a troll or had to delete unkind comments? Nope not yet.

6. Do you check your stats or care how many people read your blog? Sometimes. I am curious to see where people are from.

Now I'm just going to tag three..
