Okay..so I have not been around for quite some time..well we had Ike come to visit and he decided to take the power for 1/2 a million people. Lucky for us we live close to the back up water pumping station (3 houses away) so our electric was only out for 3 1/2 hours....but our cable/internet..that was out from 9/13 until 9/24..Talk about agony.

We could not gripe because our neighbors across the street were without power..yes..power until Tuesday night 9/23 at 8:30 pm. (9/13-9/23) WTF..DP&L...

So since I work from home, I had to get my work somehow..so I spent twice a day loitering in the police station parking lot since it was a wi-fi hotspot. I didn't feel like going to Mickey D's or anyplace else because since soooo many were without power..those places that did were SWAMPED. So it was me and the police...and some cute looking police there are..

Anywho..one thing I learned about having limited TV (thank goodness for TV antennas improved with aluminum foil...LOL)..and internet..I really didn't miss them. Sad to say. I have over 300 bookmarks and I really have no need for them in the grand scheme of things.

So I am cutting back my internet/computer time from now on. No more 2-3 hours a day..YIKES..talk about avoiding work. I am limiting myself to 30 minutes of surfing in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. Sounds crazy I am sure..but I have realized that my Princess is growing up, my honey loves me, there are great books to read, fall is in the air and that means festivals..and I want to do all of that.

I'll still check e-mail more regularly but my internet surfboard is now on the beach for a bit.

Okay..I was going to stay off of my soapbox today in honor of 9/11...but this story has TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY FREAKED ME OUT!!!

For the first time in my entire adult life, I actually FEAR for the future of my darling daughter. What is up with these politicians????WAR WITH RUSSIA...IS THIS WOMAN ON CRACK!!!!!!!!

Does she not not have a clue about her American history, WWII, the ATOMIC BOMB, NUCLEAR WEAPONS!!

We Americans thought that 9/11 was horrible...image what would happen..just imagine our children fearing for their lives..fearing "THE BOMB". We would not even begin to be prepared for the destruction that this would entail.

Lucky me

I have to admit I must have done something right to be so blessed. I have married a wonderful man who ENJOYS cooking. The bad thing is that he is REALLY, REALLY good at it.

Yesterday he cooked homemade sauce and meatballs. Tonight, he made chicken parmigiana. OMG!! I feel miserable now. I was only able to eat 1/2 of it. It is a case where my mouth wants more but my stomach is SCREAMING.."NO MORE ROOM!" It has gotten to the point where we hardly go out to eat anymore because what he makes is 1000 times better than any restaurant.

No wonder I REALLY need to lose 35+ pounds. DARN it.

Thank heaven for bringing such a wonderful, caring, funny, handsome, talented man into my life..(and our kitchen).

Tomorrow night...pork loin..yum... LOL
