Can I just vent for a moment. Please skip this if you don't want to read it. I just need to get it out.
I REALLY FRICKEN HATE having rheumatoid arthritis. It stops me from living my life and I have just about HAD IT. I will be 40 next year and I feel like I am 85.
I could not take my own daughter out trick or treating last night. I could barely walk from one end of our 1200 square foot ranch house to the other. I hate that it is preventing me from doing so many things. I hate that I am seriously looking at purchasing a cane in the next week. I can't walk in the grocery store without hanging on for dear life to a shopping cart. I hate that it prevents me from getting a full nights sleep. Not to mention, just simply standing in the kitchen making cookies last night completely wiped me out today. I actually had to have my daughter put my socks on this morning and I had to use crutches to get around. It seriously pisses me off.
If you are able to get up in the morning and get to the bathroom without worrying about peeing on yourself, be very thankful.
If you can take your child to events without wondering if there is going to be a place for you to sit or how much you will be able to stand, be very thankful.
If you can volunteer at your child's school without having to sit all the time, be very thankful.
If you can stand in one place for more than five minutes and still be able to move afterwards, be very thankful.
If you can reach over and tie your own shoelaces, be very thankful.
If you can walk to your own mailbox and get the mail, be very thankful.
If you can make it a day without pain so severe you understand why people choose to die, be very thankful.
Me..I am thankful that I have friends and family that understand and are there to help me. I am also thankful that I have health insurance and medications to get me through the rough times. I am also planning for total hip replacement next year, because I can't stand to sit out any more.

cat attention
Do you know how difficult it is to type with a cat who wants attention? I think it is worse than a child. She is presently sitting in my lap and walking all over my desk purring up a storm. I have black cat hair everywhere.
Now a word from Misty:
kfdncv pp[djkfjhas;;;;;;;;;;guhhjvhbmjnnmnm,
Okay..time for me to get back to work...a full day of shoulder pain, wrist pain, knee pain, and surgeries for all of the above. I just love the world of orthopaedics...LOL..
Hey..get your little head out of my coffee cup...Is french vanilla coffee bad for cats? Just askin.....

massage therapy
Can I just say..I think that everyone should have a professional massage at least once. Me, I would like to have them once a week. After over a year, I finally found another massage therapist. She is also an R.N. in labor/maternity and can I just say..THANK GOD!! It was wonderful. I feel like a new human.
I had been taking so much medicine because my hips/back/neck have been hurting and the fact that I have not been sleeping due to the pain and it finally drove me to call and make an appointment.
It was am omen..she had a cancellation for yesterday morning. She worked on this fat arthritic woman for 75 minutes and I am amazed at the difference. She found muscles that were causing me pain that I didn't even know about.
For the first time in a year, I could lift up my right foot and put my socks on....myself.... this morning. I have energy and can walk better. I think she might have even stretched me out and added an inch back onto this 5'2" frame..
If anyone, that I know personally, ever wants a massage gift certificate (with a licensed professional massage therapist..LOL)..I will get you one..just let me know!

new member
We have a new family member...her name (so far) is Misty. Her previous owners moved away and just left her outside. She had been wandering the neighborhood for the last 3 weeks and I finally convinced my hubby to let us take her in. Most of us are happy to have her..

He on the otherhand..is not so happy to see her..after being an "only pet" for 6 1/2 years..he is a bit wary and sad..
Poor thing..hope they become friends soon..

Fall
I love the fall. I love everything about it.
Life slows down, temps cool, windows open, time to be all snuggly, good books are out. I seem to be energized by the cooler temps. My arthritis (usually) settles down a bit. I feel more alive in the fall. There are colors all around. Most people prefer spring and the new life that it brings. I have always been the opposite.
To me Fall brings hot cocoa, apples, festivals, hayrides, pumpkins, hugs, family, holidays, togetherness, love.
