Ants

Okay...I love spring...but had HATE ANTS!!! and I really HATE ANTS in the kitchen. We have had the occasional ant around the house (mostly the office) in the past. No big deal.

This morning....M and E leave for work/school. I turn off the kitchen and dining room lights and head off into the office. Check work. Finish my cup of coffee and decide to go back to the kitchen to get a refill and maybe get some toast for breakfast. What happens...

I turn on the light and suddenly ALL OVER THE COUNTER are these little black ANTS. I see them marching in a trail from behind the upper cabinet, down behind the microwave and next to the toaster. So I start smashing the damn things. Yank the microwave out...smash...smash...smash the little devils. Check the loaf of bread and muffins that were on the counter. Luckily they had not found those items yet. I triple check and then stick them in the fridge. Throw the toaster out into the garage.

After I stem the marching flow I then walk outside to see where the hell they are getting in. I see the place and grab the can of Raid from the garage and spray the hell out of them. The whole side of the house is dripping in Raid.. Take that you critters.

So then I go back into the kitchen...get out the bleach and start washing EVERYTHING. Now the kitchen walls, floor, counters, cabinets, and microwave have been cleaned. I have spent the last 4 hours cleaning every square inch of my kitchen and dining room. There is not a crumb to be found for those damn ANTS.

Still have not eaten as I have lost any desire to eat...GRRRR...DAMN ANTS!!
