Down 5.5 pounds already!!

I have just by lowering carbs and choosing the lower glycemic foods. I have gone to gym only twice in the last week but did the Wii fit for about 30 minutes on 3 other days. It certainly helps that hubby is also in the same boat...sure makes it much easier when everyone in the house is following the low glycemic / low carb plan.

Woo! HOO...doing the happy dance..

Hmmm..I wonder if the happy dance will burn a few calories also?

Gym

Went to the gym for the second time this week....miracle unto itself.

Know what really sucks...you do 1.75 miles on the bike, 0.54 miles on the elliptical...feeling really good..stop to get gas on the way home and all you smell is McD French fries, KFC fried chicken, Taco bell....OMG...being overweight SUCKS.

Starting now

So it happened..I went and established with a new family doctor as the old one's office was just too far and not easy to get to anymore. First thing they make you do is stand on the scale. I did that and am COMPLETELY fed up with my weight. It happened..now it is time to lose the weight. No more excuses. Went to the gym and am starting out slow. I rode the bike for 15 minutes and did 1.66 miles and did the elliptical for 5 minutes. Not a huge work out but better than what I normally do which is NOTHING. I figured I needed to start somewhere and there it is. I will not allow myself to weigh 160 pounds ever again. I have two new hips so I no longer have an excuse for not doing anything.

The weight loss starts now.

Sometimes one finds that friendships have been imprinted on our souls. When we think we have forgotten, something triggers the memory. Amazing how some have taken a part of me and yet I have felt so enriched by having them in my life.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.
You didn't get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.

You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.  Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans...oh hell no.

Dad's birthday

Found my Dad's 60th Birthday present. Went and picked him out today. Isn't he just the cutest bulldog baby? He should be ready to go home when Dad comes up at the end of April. I know Dad is going to like him.

Manatees

We went and spent the night at Blue Spring State Park. (see link over on the right) I had booked a cabin before we left on our trip. The cabins are absolutely beautiful! We were all amazed. So wish that we could have stayed longer. Princess was thrilled that she got to see so many manatees in the spring.
